Required by a leading global forwarder, this is an important position responsible for managing and developing their busy warehouse and domestic transport services.
The successful applicant will have excellent warehouse and transport management experience, ideally gained working for a freight forwarder, and additionally will be a strong man-manager (10 direct reports - 5 warehouse and 5 drivers) who is capable implementing changes and improvements to current operating procedures. You will be accomplished in Warehouse optimisation, pick & pack and value added services and experienced in managing and appointing sub-contractors and will be familiar with rates and providers. A thorough understanding of costings and finance is essential as this role will hold P&L responsibility for the department. Detailed knowledge of VOSA requirements and Good IT skills, Excel, Work, Power Point. The roll will also incorporate local sales promotion for their Pallet Network business (approx 20% time).
