Global Forwarder seeking a Chief Operating Officer out of their Head Office in Heathrow.
Reporting to: Chief Executive Officer
Responsible for: Regional Directors (2)& Branch Managers (4) & Sales teams including BDM’s and SBA’s (8) located across the UK
Job Summary:
- Overseeing the Management of the operational functions of the UK business to ensure budgets are achieved at all branches and within all disciplines.
- Play a full and active role in developing business from new and existing customers, to show demonstrable involvement in supporting the delivery of new revenue to the value of £1M during the first 18 months of service.
Key tasks:
- Participate with the Team to deliver on current strategy and to set and deliver future strategies
- Ensure delivery of First Class Operational Service quality across the full service portfolio: Air, Ocean, Road, Warehousing, Logistics and Express.
- Build strong relationships with Key Customers, participate in Business Reviews and ensure target KPI’s achieved.
- Identification, planning and delivery of tangible Operational efficiencies (new methods, cost savings).
- Support UK Branch Managers to ensure 2012 Budget numbers achieved.
- Specific development of our Ocean Product. 2012 target to commence Ocean Export activities from London.
- Managing Aviation Security/AEO/Health and Safety and Employment law compliance throughout all UK offices.
Salary is negotiable for the successful candidate and benefits include Bonus (% of net profit), Pension, Private Healthcare, Life Insurance, Laptop, Mobile and 25 days holiday.
