An excellent career opportunity has arisen for Chief Accountant to join a global transportation and logistics organisation, within the expanding Finance division.

Based in Felixstowe, the successful applicant with have experience of working as a Chief Accountant within a commercial environment. The ideal candidate will currently be working in a similar position for a Freight Forwarding or Shipping company.
Responsible for:-
- All Balance Sheet accounts (including bank accounts) being reconciled monthly, and all unexplained items over 1 month old are cleared
- FACT account reconciliation
- VAT accounts being reconciled
- Reconciliation of all inter company accounts
- Update and circulation of month time table
- Production of month end Management Accounts
- Preparation of all monthly HFM reports
- Update/monitoring of sales and cost of sales accruals
- Reporting VAT balances
- Assist with preparation of year-end statutory accounts
- Preparation of year-end Tax Pack
- Establishing written procedures for general area of responsibility
Specific job qualities and skills:-
- Be currently working as a Chief Accountant or a similar senior position
- Qualified accountant with either ACCA, ACA or CIMA qualification or similar experience
- Ability to communicate fluently in both written and verbal format at all levels
- Ability to represent finance internally and externally to the business community
- Sensitivity to cross cultural boundaries
- Knowledge of the FACT system, Hyperion Financial Management (HFM) and Microsoft Excel, Word & Outlook
